The youngest in a musical family from rural Quebec, Céline Dion's singing career started early. As a teenager, she was already a popular recording artist in Japan and Europe. Dion's version of the Disney song "Beauty and the Beast" catapulted her to international fame, followed by the albums "The Colour of My Love" (1993) and "Deux" (1995). In 1996 the Grammy-winning album "Falling Into You" cemented her reputation for sultry love ballads. In just over five years she sold 50 million records worldwide. After a much-publicized pregnancy, Dion gave birth to a son, Rene Charles, on January 25, 2001.
